A message from President Tim Medlin:
Hello Chapter Members;
I hope this finds you all well and safe.
I had prepared an updated President’s message to be added to the website after the conclusion of the recent MOIAAI Chapter Annual Seminar. But it will have to wait.
As most of you know, Immediate Past President of the Chapter Steve Russell passed away on Monday morning May 24, 2021. Being totally unexpected it has been a shock to all of us. Steve was very active in this year’s seminar and those that were able to attend this year are blessed to have been able to spend some quality time with Steve.
Steve spent many years associated with the IAAI and the Missouri Chapter. After serving several years as a director Steve served as the Secretary, Treasurer, President and Immediate Past President of the chapter. He was always the professional. He thrived for the chapter to advance and prosper. It did just that under Steve’s guidance and participation. The chapter will miss his guidance, wisdom and common sense approach. We have truly lost a great friend.
I have personally lost a great friend and mentor. I have known Steve almost 30 years, both professionally and on a personal level. Steve and I worked together for many years and of course served on the Missouri Chapter Board many years. As I assumed the role of Chapter President Steve provided that guidance that an incoming President needs. As we faced the unusual year of 2020, Steve was a phone call away and we discussed getting through it and moving forward regularly. I always found Steve’s advice and opinion to be very solid and with a common sense approach. Steve was a man of few words, if you didn’t want his opinion, don’t ask. I was glad to ask and did so often. I will miss my friend.
Steve will be missed by all of us at the Missouri Chapter as well as his many many friends, business associates and most importantly, his family of which he was the most proud. It is comforting to know that Steve and Kaye are together and guiding us from above. I will miss him greatly.
